Allograft has traditionally been the solution in these situations, but its lower strength and higher re-tear rate compared to autografts are limiting factors. The Jewel ACL device is specifically designed for partial or total tissue-sparing ACL reconstruction with hamstring tendons. In a partial tissue-sparing procedure, only one tendon (either the semitendinosus or gracilis) is placed into the Jewel ACL, and both are then mounted together on a femoral loop button.
