ACL SURGERY COST IN JAIPUR ,India – Cashless ACL / Knee Ligament surgery
ACL injury is one of the most common sports and knee injuries among the young population. No other surgery has witnessed so many technical innovations as ACL surgery. This is due to the high prevalence of ACL tears and near-perfect results after ACL surgery. In this article, I will discuss the cost of ACL surgery and its factors.

After doing more than 1000 ligament injury cases I have devised a few techniques which help in cost cutting.
COST OF ACL SURGERY
Implant factor: When I started doing knee ligament surgeries I used to fix ligament grafts with one titanium screw and one cortical button. This surgery would cost up to 55000 to 60000 INR.

With innovations bioscrew came in the vogue and they inflated the cost by 10000-15000, so with bioscrew and cortical button ACL surgery will cost around 70000 to 75000.

Off late a new technique “ All inside ACL reconstruction with fibertape augmentation further increased the cost. It’s a screw-less technique and it requires a special flip retro cutter. It is most advanced technique of ACL reconstruction which gives very fast recovery and fiber tape, which acts as an internal brace, gives initial graft protection. If you choose Bio Absorbable Screw then All inside ACL reconstruction with fibertape augmentation would cost you around 90000.

The cost of surgery rises higher if you choose large corporate hospitals for your surgery for obvious reasons of superior facilities.
How cost can be reduced: I have been doing arthroscopic knee ligament surgeries for the last 8 years. With time I have learnt that result of surgery depends on surgical technique and not on the screw whether it is bio or metal screw. So choose what your pocket can afford.
We can reduce the cost of surgery further by reducing the
- Length of hospital stay and
- Cost of implant
I have been working on it since long time and now have devised the “ no leg-bone implant technique”. I don’t use tourniquet, keep surgery time less than 40 minutes, use shaver as less as possible. I keep my graft incision as short as possible (2 cms). So with these techniques patients don’t have much pain and swelling in the post-operative period. That’s why these all techniques allow me to discharge the patient same day or within 24 hours. I DON’T USE TIBIAL SCREW and keep the tendon graft naturally attached to tibia. This avoids screw-related possible future complications and also reduces the cost of surgery significantly.
Cashless ACL surgery: Treatment of ACL and other ligament surgery are available cashless for CGHS, ECHS, RAILWAY, State health scheme, Aayushman yojna and chiranjeevi yojna beneficiaries. Its treatment is also cashless for all health insurance beneficiaries.
